Crustacean
Tropomyosin is a major muscle protein in Crustaceans. It has been identified as the major Shrimp allergen.
Molecular cloning experiments on lobsters and crabs have characterized this protein as the common allergen in Crustaceans. There has also been strong immunological evidence that tropomyosin is a cross-reactive allergen among Crustaceans and Molluscs.
Tropomyosin constitutes at least 20% of the soluble protein in crude cooked shrimp extract.
This assay detects soluble Crustacean Tropomyosin levels and is suitable as an indicator of the presence of this allergen.
The ELISA SYSTEMS Crustacean Residue ELISA kit is designed to provide a sensitive and convenient method for screening food and environmental samples for Crustacean (Tropomyosin) residues.
00ppm, 0.05ppm, 0.10ppm, 0.25ppm, 0.50 ppm Tropomyosin Protein
Time required for testing an extracted sample: Approximately 60 minutes.
