Companies producing Non-Dairy products should ensure their raw and finished products have not been contaminated with milk protein during manufacture, to prevent possible allergic responses in susceptible individuals.
We have two test kits available : Beta Lactoglobulin and Casein.
Casein is the major protein in milk. It accounts for about 80% of total milk proteins. It is used widely in the food industry, along with derivatives and isolates from milk.
Casein is a source of food allergies and must be excluded from the diet of susceptible individuals. Because it is present in high levels in milk, casein is a useful indicator of the presence of milk residue.
The ELISA SYSTEMS Casein Residue assay is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) that may be used to screen food products and environmental samples for Casein as an indicator of the presence of milk or milk products.
